While working on a lesson for a youth discipleship training week, I read through the entire Gospel According to Matthew. I wanted to spot things about Jesus that pointed to his glory. While I had many notes to take, one thing I found particularly interesting was the amazing catalog of miracles. Look at this list, and see if it does not encourage you to praise Jesus:
Chapter 4
Healed a variety of sicknesses. (4:23-24)
Chapter 8
Healed a leper by touching him (8:1-4)
Healed a Centurion’s servant from miles away. (8:5-13)
Healed Peter’s sick mother-in-law. (8:14-15)
Cast out many demons and healed many sick people. (8:16-17)
Calmed a raging sea. (8:23-27)
Cast many demons out of 2 Gadarene men. (8:28-34)
Chapter 9
Healed a paralytic and forgave his sins. (9:1-8)
Healed a woman sick with bleeding for 12 years. (9:20-22)
Raised a dead girl to life. (9:18-19, 23-26)
Gave sight to 2 blind men (9:27-30)
Gave speech to a demon oppressed man without speech. (9:32-33)
Chapter 10
Gave his disciples authority to cast out demons and heal the sick. (10:1)
Chapter 12
Healed a man with a withered hand. (12:13)
Healed many. (12:15)
Healed a demon oppressed man who could not see or speak. (12:22)
Chapter 14
Healed many sick in a crowd. (14:14)
Fed 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish. (14:19-21)
Walked on water. (14:25)
Allowed Peter to walk on water. (14:29)
Calmed a storm at sea. (14:32)
Healed many who only touched his clothes. (14:34-36)
Chapter 15
Healed a Canaanite woman’s demon oppressed daughter. (15:28)
Healed a crowd of various maladies. (15:30)
Fed 4,000 with 7 loaves and a few fish. (15:35-38)
Chapter 17
Was transfigured. 17:2)
Healed a man’s demon oppressed son. ((17:18)
“Sent Peter to find a fish with a coin in its mouth. (17:27)
Chapter 20
Healed 2 blind men (20:34)
Chapter 21
Healed many in the temple. (21:14)
Made a fig tree wither immediately. (21:19)
Chapter 26
Accurately predicted that Peter would deny him. (26:75)
Chapter 27
Many strange signs accompanied his death. (27:51-53)
Chapter 28
Rose from the dead. (28:6, 9)
